The Original New Mutants Are Back!

The Originals Get Better With Age

The New Mutants have always been a high profile distinct group right up there comparable with the top notch X-Men. Since inception, their diversity, history and strength of character has been what made this title stand out among the many x-teams. During the initial run certain characters like Magma, Warlock, Mirage and Karma have fallen to the way side. Others like Cannonball, Wolfsbane & Sunspot have been used on numerous occasions throughout the 90s but this era suffered from weak story lines from time to time. I'm overjoyed that the title will relaunch giving some focus to the much more mature and eXperienced mutants. If anything near the attention to detail that was placed on New X-Men volume two is shown here it will be an overnight success like back in its heyday. I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens neXt especially with all the x-books being of such a high caliber at this point in time. The characters have grown with us and it's going to be interesting seeing them take their lives and the future of the dying mutant race to the neXt level. The first issue is already out and if it's any indication we're off to a great start. Here's to at least another 100 issues of New Mutants.

Legion (David Haller) son of Professor X and Gabrielle Haller. This autistic mutants manifested three personalities each with a different mutant ability:
I.) Telekinesis: moving & manipulation of physical objects - adventurous adult male personality
II.) Telepathy: control and projection of the mind - personality of a terrorist
III.) Pyrokinesis: creation & control of fire - defiant young female personality

Anybody who doesn't find Charles Xavier intriguing needs to have their head eXamined. The dynamics of his life and the people in it always made for good story telling. David scored big by having Charles as his dad. However he really won the popularity award just by being as intriguing, human and vulnerable like his dad despite being an eXtremely powerful mutant. This is a child that has been caught in the crossfire or a war between two races human and mutant as well as a broken family. There was never any lack of love from his parents but his mutation and mental condition placed him in a category all of his own. His mind like his life is in permanent fluX and no matter how crazy it gets I never get bored or tired of it. Like any other child he just wants to be recognised and loved by his parents especially his father Charles. It's going to be interesting (to say the least) to see where Legion goes from here.

Danielle Moonstar (previously called Psyche, Mirage) all beautiful names.

Prior to the events of House of M where she was depowered, Moonstar could:
I.) create realistic holographic illusion in her victims
II.) She had a psionic link with animals
III.) She could manifest fear in the form of a psychic arrow to render a person unconscious after being shot.
IV.) Dani was once a Valkyrie with a white Pegasus, connections to Asgard the mystical realm and able to perceive impending death before it occurred. The death of her pegasus, Brightwind changed this somewhat. I'm looking forward to any further development here.

Dani was always a proud cheyenne warrior with formidable fighting skills as well as undeveloped mystical abilities. The possibilities with her are limitless. This is a woman that is dynamic in every sense of the word and when she makes a move everybody takes note.

Magik (Illyana Rasputin)

There have been many siblings and other family connections in the world of the X-Men. The bond between Illyana and her big brother, the x-man Colossus is by far the most interesting sibling relationship. This brother sister duo proved that no matter how much life changed they were always there for each other. The once thought dead sorceress queen of a hellish dimension and mutant temporal teleporter has a lot on her plate right now. Returning at a time when her family has grown and her best friend and brother's girlfriend seemingly sacrificed her life to save the planet Earth. Personally I think our little snowflake deserves some hope and happiness in her life. She has sacrificed so much and tried relentlessly to aid others in the past. Magik has proved that no matter how bad life gets all you need is hope and love to make magic happen.

Mother's Day Was Superb!

After having so many mothers day events that were good, it's safe to say this year is my favorite so far. I had nothing planned for mom this year and honestly I didn't remember until the day itself. As Shebada would say it crept up on me like Smirnoff Ice. After talking with friends Sunday morning and hearing their plans I decided to join in on the celebration. So I got tickets to see "Bashment Granny 2" for me and my mom through my friend Princess (thanks a million).

Continuing the trend of previous years I told mom to chillaX and be ready by X time. Fast forward a few hours later - Mom's looking stunning! I met up with two of my best friends, Shenelle & Princess and their lovely mothers at Mass Camp. The place was ram and being early meant nothing as the super fans & moms seem to have slept there overnight or had no other plans for the day. We tried to find better seats closer to the stage but ended up in a blind spot at the front and centre of the audience due to poor planning. This location was Butu filled, sought after and very entertaining to put it mildly. After the show began and realising the view was unworkable we relocated to the back of the audience where the crowd was thinner and the view was less obstructed. I was even fortunate enough to run into my dad and his friends. We enjoyed the rest of the gut busting, laughtastic show. When the show was very close to ending we made our way towards the eXit and sadly didn't get to bid my pops farewell.

Later we took our mothers to Cuddy's who tried catering for football fans by opening @ 6:30 a.m. and then mother's day patrons later. They were half an hour from closing but graciously welcomed us into their establishment and catered to our dire need of nourishment. We even got free tea. Woo-hoo! Shebada entertained us @ Mass Camp and the mothers led by Shenelle's mom took over @ our late dinner. We laughed (sometimes a bit too loudly), ate, talked and shared food. It was a most memorable occasion with three wonderful, youthful, beautiful, caring mothers. The day may have been dedicated to mothers but we all enjoyed ourselves immensely. I can't wait to see what we have planned for our fathers later and neXt year when mother's day comes around again. Big shout out to all the mothers around the world who support your family and build great nations. You are the backbone of any good society. Continue doing your work at the hardest job because it's reward is one of the greatest.

Where the Magic Happens

My portal to the world, my Acer PC.


This is my wide screen monitor/HD TV, part of the package of my Acer 2nd generation PC. I spend countless hours before it wasting away my eye sight which is no longer 20/20. On the bright they still work and it's not how well you see it's the awesomeness of what you see. Isn't that X-Force wallpaper the greatest?


My computer desk that came in a boX and was assembled by yours truly. I've had that thing since my 1st PC in 2000. If you observe carefully you will see my enhanced music CDs; some movie DVDs (e.g. Elektra, Smallville); and Nintendo Game Cube games with X-Men Legends leading the pack.


The biggest eXternal harddrive I own thus far it's a terabyte. It's working great so far and doesn't heat up (even when I fall asleep leaving it on with no fan in my room).

Everybody need to see this video of X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The parody is very entertaining and creative especially the repetition of the whole green screen line. If you downloaded it please go see it in theaters you know you can't resist.

Sabretooth (played by Liev Schreiber) is the psycho, feline, sadistic murderer, villain in search of a nail file. He has advanced healing abilities. This time around there is less growling because he actually talks unlike in X1.



Emma Frost (played by Tahyna Tozzi) the diamond-skinned telepath who we all love/hate (mostly love). This was before she grew up, got slutty, and started dressing like Britney Spears the wanna be stripper (not that I'm complaining).


Gambit (played by Taylor Kitsch) the card-throwing, psychic charmin, staff yieldin, kinetic energy manipulating, thief. Now all he needs is his own movie and girlfriend to join the cast.



Deadpool (played by Ryan Reynolds) the comedic, for hire, merc(enary)-with-a-mouth and cool fighting skills, weapons & healing ability to back it up.



John Wraith (played by Will.i.am) the teleporter and eXplosives eXpert.



William Stryker (played by Danny Huston) the only human of the group and a bad representation at that. He appeared in X2 and his son Jason cameos here as well.


Cyclops (played by Tim Pocock) initially clashed with Wolverine since Cyclops got the girl. Scott is a really good leader, optic blastin mutant saving upstanding citizen.

Blob (played by Kevin Durand) the strong, obese(that's putting it lightly), dumb muscle of the gang. You really wanna see a 900 pound guy that bad huh? Yeah whatever.




Agent Zero (played by Daniel Henney) the eXtremely skilled tracker and marksman who just can't eXist in peace with Logan around.


Kayla Silverfox (played by Lynn Collins) is Wolvierine's psychic contolling, girlfriend that predictably dies at the end. She was eXtremely hot but she didn't get the memo that the only way to stay alive and with Wolverine would be to have healing abilities.
(video coming soon...not. she dies. why do u need a video? don't dwell on the past look to the future. where the Phoenix will rise again.)


Wolverine (played by Hugh Jackman) the advanced senses, healing, spotlight hoggin er I mean star of the show. Is it me or does everybody here heal?...talk about repetition.

Tessanne Chin: The Powerful Young Musical Icon

Tessanne Chin was THE guest headliner for the Jordu Live show on the 28th of March this year। The event opened with 4 new artists as well as a fashion show in the mix. The young acts showed promise and much talent. However I was eager for Tessanne to take the mic. When she did so it was amazing as usual. Her presence, voice and caring persona came across making the event truly spectacular. Her words of encouragement - stating her mother's remark about us in Jamaica facing economic recession everyday and that the important thing is that we have food to eat and we are healthy. Is it any wonder she has such a thoughtful and nurturing spirit?


She definitely delivered SPECTACULA! entertainment.


She made singing high notes seem easy.

Tessane took our breath away when she invited a shy young lady to sing with her and coached her into a full fledged singer right in front of our eyes. Showing her fan that she should not underestimate herself or her talents. She did a Bob Marley tribute "Johnny Was" as only she could. It spoke to the emotions and conscience of her audience while showing how much diversity and talent she possess.


Girls look good in pictures and better in real life.

The flash from other cameras made this picture light up but it's the persons in it that give it that spark.

I can't find words to eXpress how IMPRESSED I am with her (and any1 who know me know that's no easy feat). I can't help but recall when a cameraman told young lady that he wanted to take a picture of Tess with another young lady and Tessanne paused from autograph session and and hugged both girls and posed for the picture much to the dismay of the photographer. A case of her eXpression, her belief of equality no matter who you are or what you look like. A matter to which she spoke on earlier during her performance. Another quality I will forever remember is her selflessness she did autographs for everyone (3 for me). with no complaint and even after stating that her final picture is with one person she quickly posed for pictures with a few other persons. Tessanne is a true legend and someone that more young entertainers in Jamaica should emulate.


I told Tessane how much I respect her song writing skills. She returned the compliment by hugging me. I don't think she realised that I value the hug more than she valued my compliment but that's not important right? I mean we both came out winners.

LA Lewis di real entainer

If you live in Jamaica especially Kingston or Portmore you would have come across graffiti strewn up on many walls or back alley ways. You've probably seen the words "LA Lewis" among the lot. Are you curious to find out about the man whose alias is being displayed all over the city? A musician/graffiti artist that is extremely exclusive to the native masses. Listen to the interview he conducted with Simone cooper Clarke and Rodney Campbell on Fame FM, if you dare! Beware this is not what you are expecting it to be and nothing is quite what it seem.

My least favorite X-Man? Probably Wolverine

What does Wolverine do that make him so important? Heal. Fight. Protect. Teach. Elixir Heals better and he can do it for others as well. Nightcrawler fights better if he had training and learn to use other weapons he'd be on par or better than Wolvie. On the issue of protecting. lol Did anybody see X-Men 2? I always said if the X-Men had left the kids in Nightcrawler's care nobody would have been captured. Plus there's the added bonus that the guy attracts blood thirsty psychopaths like Sabretooth, Deathstryke and Weapon X goons. Not that I'm hating on your hero (we'll I am) but like a lot of people (not just x-fans, avengers anyone?) I just hate it when Logan steal the spotlight from everybody. Be honest who thought Wolverine robbed the spotlight in the x-movies?

Leading the X-Men in their new cartoon was also another STUPID move. He's no way near leadership material especially compared to Storm, Cyclops or Nightcrawler, even on a bad day. Anybody thinking that he's great at directing the new X-Force don't even go there he's just filling in for Scott the real leader. I've also noticed that all the girls flock to the other guys Scott keep getting hitched with the telepaths, Angel sweep all the new girls off their feet and even Beast is constantly taken up with the humans despite his appearance.

The best thing about Wolverine is hands down the fact that he's played by the talented Hugh Jackman. In my opinion X-23 can do anything James can do better. She's just a killer-bred teenager but I imagine she will eXcel his standards in the future, more so when she finally inherit those heightened senses. In spit of everything I've said though I emplore you all to go see the Wolverine movie if not for Wolverine do it for:
- Hugh Jackman (he amazingly talented and the only reason I even have an ounce of respect for James/Logan or whatever name he's gonna get neXt).
- The future of X-Men movies (where hopefully Wolvie will be part of the team not the whole team).
- All the other mutants appearing like Gambit, Cyclops, kid Storm, young Emma, Deadpool, Beak, Agent Zero, Blob Sabretooth and Jason (William Stryker's son). [Is it just me or is this movie compensating for Wolvie's lack of strong storytelling?]
Anyway, just go see it so that other characters like Deadpool can get their movies green lit and the x-franchise baton can be passed on to more worthy persons. Besides with this much x-men the sequel could be lacking Wolverine. Since his real friends on the x-men (Nightcrawler, Shadowcat, Colossus, Jean, Cable, Rogue, Psylocke, Bishop, Forge, Juggernaut, Prof X, Jubilee, X-23, Domino, Marrow, Mystique) are missing. All things considered though, I'm confident this will be a very good movie. And remember ladies cheer for Gambit, Cyclops and Deadpool like you did for the men in Lord of the Rings so they get their own shot @ hollywood.

Sunshine Shone Saturday Night as Tanya Stephens and Tanya 2.0 Collide

Salina aka Tanya 2.0 had Fun Saturday night when she finally met her favorite singer for the first time. Tanya Stephens was given the heads up that her #1 fan was at Jordu in 7th Avenue. Upon entering the venue Tanya Stephens was greeted by event planner Princess who indicated this person to be Salina. The original must have seen something strange and scary in her admiree as she made her fingers into a crucifiX. The live performance began to Salina's delight who was front row center in the crowd. Tanya Stephens began with a few of her personal selections. A short time later I arrived with Nichola, Shenelle and Scott to finalise the audience.

This is where I was greeted to not one but 2 Tanya's on stage. The entertainer took requests from the audience which was led by - guess who? As this practice continued the crowd and Tanya Stephens became more aware of the depth and intricacies of knowledge that the girl called Tanya 2.0 possessed about her music. The original Tanya herself admitted that some of these songs and lyrics brought up as requests were almost buried in her memory. Tanya 2.0 was vividly fresh on the lyrical content and was constantly singing along with the Tanya on the stage. Even the crowd was ensnared by her lyrical prowess. Ms Stephens questioned her loyal fan to find out if she still attended school and if her knowledge of her studies were as verse as that of her hobby. It was like an "ooh and aah" session in the room as Tanya Stephens was wondering if she had been the latest victim of Aston Kutcher's show, Punk'd. After numerous songs and jokes from Ms Stephens and requests from her would be successor 2.0 the musical portion of the night came to a close. Salina was eXtremely overwhelmed but manged not to shed any tears of joy. Tanya made it clear to 2.0 that she has been waiting to see someone truly appreciative of her music like 2.0. She also declare her joy at eventually discovering such a person and eXpressed her deepest appreciation to her unquestioned # 1 fan.

The processions of events then continued into an autograph session and photo shoot with fans. The crowd was then greeted to a surprise appearance by Barbee who gave a short sampling of her new hit song. She also took pictures with the crowd and politely signed pictures too. Thus endeth a wonderful night and u missed it. Mu HA Ha Hah. Anyway there were pictures of the show so enjoy.
