Giant-Sized Astonishing X-Men!!!

I don't know about you guys but this book is out now and I can't wait to read it. This has been a very great X-Men title over the years. The only problem was that it was plagued by publishing delays. Joss Whedon (writer) and John Cassaday (artist) really outdid themselves on this book.

Cover to Giant-Sized Astonishing X-Men #1 featuring Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four and the Avengers.

Warren Ellis is writing and the Italian, Simone Bianchi is the new eXtremely talented artist with the upcoming issue 25. The new creative team is great and hopefully the book can go monthly without any more delays. Simone Bianchi is a great artist just what the book needs to keep the momentum. (Just look at his pages below) The initial Astonishing team consisted of:
Armor -- New kid on the x-block
Colossus -- Back from the dead
Cyclops -- Great character but I hate his new costume
Beast -- The most intelligent charismatic beast around
Lockheed -- Kitty's fire breathing, pet dragon
Shadowcat -- Our favorite intellectual, down to earth lovable phaser
Wolverine -- He's on every team in the Marvel Universe by default
The White Queen -- Everybody's favorite female dog

What I'm most looking forward to, excluding a Monthly publication:

Art from Bianchi

Characters -
Storm -- African Queen of Wakanda and the mistress of weather
Nightcrawler -- Finally the elf is back in the spotlight
X-23 -- If it were up to me Wolverine would go and she would fill his space. The redundancy in not necesssary, besides I like her more.
Armor -- I'm looking forward to seeing her evolution as a person and a mutant.

More Bianchi art.
And Please a new Cyclops costume.

Where are they now?...

I was searching youtube for videos of one of my all time favorite band LFO. This lead to the discovery that Devin Lima the most talented singer from the trio now has his own band "Devin and the"The Cadbury Diesel". His upcoming album titled "Mozart Popart" comes from One Eleven Records. 1-11 Records is operated by Devin's former band mate and good friend Brad Fischetti.

Tami Chynn video log

A new era in music has arrived I'm not even sure how to classify this type of music: dancehall, reggae, pop, R&B? Tami is definitely doin her thing and it's just gettin better and better everytime. Just give some love to this Jamaican musical pioneer.

Over And Over Again

Simple and elegant! This song always leave you wanting more.

Hyperventilating

Hyperventilating [Director's Cut Version]

Raw sex appeal and incredible dancing to an outstanding song! If that doesn't make you hyperventilate then check your pulse, you must be dead. The sexiness level in this video was through the roof. Miss Chynn's dance skills can prove she's 100% Jamaican.

Tell Mi Seh

Tell Mi Seh [low quality]

I love dat bousy walk in the end.

Ice Breaker Riddim Medley

2:02 Tami certainly does represent in this medley, keeping the tempo and energy flowing. All the artists here deserve credit: Voice Mail, Wayne Marshall, Busy Signal, Jovi Rockwell, Cezar. This was a job well done.

Arguing (with Wayne Marshall)

Why can't we just get along?

Why (again with Wayne Marshall)

Why Tami nuh deh pan tv every day? She's too pretty not to be. If Tami was in a soap opera I would watch her portion of the show every day.

All On Me (with Sean Paul)

Not an official video but I love this song too much. She stole the show here even though she was supposed to just be a featured artist. If that's not talented skills then I don't know what is. [It could also be my bias towards her.]

Rock U (with Kid Kurup)

The video that started it all. A legend is born. Tami's unique talent, style, flair, fashion sense, beauty and dance moves were evident here too. Cameo: Tessanne Chin [Tami's little sister, with the BIG voice] @ 1:57.

Now if only "Looky Looky" and "1,2,3,4" had videos. I'm desperately awaiting the frozen video and her album release this summer.

Dangerous - M.Pokora ft. Timbaland & Sebastian

This video is flawless. It has a really great vibe and no matter what mood you're in it's sure to grab your attention. I also like the pace, choreography and humour mixed throughout. Matt Pokora's album "MP3" is full of great music that's definitely worth a listen. It's evident here why there has been so much buzz about Matt. He's one talented man. Just don't compare M.P. to J.T. or you might end up in a dangerous spot.

I notice Timbaland has an uncanny ability for finding talent. Or is he the reason these songs are so great? Whatever the story is; it's evident these people had talent to begin with and Timbo worked his magical beats. This video has my favorite Timbaland rap to date. Just try to follow it through, each line is intricately woven and delivered with the same amount of style to have you dangerously addicted. The little zaney, comedy thug or whoever that character Tim's playin' is also fun. Wherever this idea came from it was definitely unpredictable and it works in a crazy, quirky kinda way.

Havin' a bad day or just feelin' low? Well, allow Matt 2 cheer you up. You can even bust out some dance moves [when nobody's around, if you're shy].

Lyrics [coming as soon as I can decipher Timbo's complete rap]

A boy from Hell?

Hellboy II: The Golden Army starring: Ron Perlman, Selma Blair, Doug Jones, Luke Goss and Anna Walton, opens July 11.

This is the New York Comic-Con (NYCC) poster from Universal Pictures.

The official Hellboy II movie website is amazing. It's been a while since I was this amazed by a film's website. There is a huge amount of content here and commentary throughout by the director himself, Gullimero Del Toro. Considering how much went into the making of this movie and its website, is it any wonder why this is on my list of must see movies for the summer. The only thing I'm left pondering is what's left to be bonus content for the DVD.

Liz has gotten hotter since we last saw her. I like the new costumes and monsters they look incredible. Can't wait to see what crazy creature "go bump in the night" this time around.

Visit the official site http://www.hellboymovie.com/, for an overload of content.

What I Wanted To See!

Now that's what I call riding shotgun.

I know Iron Man might be the Super Man of Marvel but I'm dying to see Angelina Jolie in Wanted this year. Ms Jolie is one of the greatest action stars of our era. I admire her skills being feminine yet possessing the ability to take on monsters, assassins or just about anyone. In the trailer she can be seen proving this and more. Watching her fight is like watching a dancer bring music to life with deadly precision. I find it very captivating. And just let me add, my money was on Mrs. Smith when she was contracted to kill Mr. Smith. [Although I might be a little biased because I'm a big fan of Angelina.]

Hey guys, I think she want some help with her sun block.

Wanted, starring James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie, will be in theatres on June 27.

Wolvie & The X-Men

The trailer for the upcoming X-Men cartoon is online. It sure heightened my interest. My only request more X-Men less Wolverine. It's about time the other characters got some spotlight; Wolverine is way over played. [The link below is to the hi-res version.]

Some Light Reading - The Old New Mutants

The girls of the New Mutants:
Mirage (top), Karma (back), Magma (crouching), Wolfsbane (morphing).

Since last year I have been trying to update myself on some X-Men history. I have been reading the original New Mutants comics. The group first appeared in the Marvel Graphic Novel #4 (1982) from Marvel Comics. The New Mutants which was published monthly, followed these characters along the journey their lives took since discovering the were mutants. Mutants are humans who posses an extra ability due to genetic evolution. The book is quite impressive. I'm beginning to wonder why Cannonball was the only person that made it/graduated to the X-Men. Excluding Wolfsbane who was on several other teams. This series was unique because it centered on the lives of these teenagers that just happened to be mutants. The New Mutants initially had 5 members: Karma, Sunspot, Wolfsbane, Cannonball and Mirage, the leaders. I also like the idea of the team being mostly female. The book focused on character development which is evident with the addition of Magma, Magik, Shadowcat, Warlock and Cypher in future years. As I continue to read this series I'm discovering much more than how these characters fit into the X-Men universe. I'm growing and evolving with these mutants, whom I have come to hold in such high regard. Artist Bob McLeod, painter Bill Sienkiewicz and writer Chris Claremont did a wonderful job bringing drama to the lives of these youngsters.

Here are the initial 6 members of the New Mutants and their mutant abilities.
Cannonball - thermochemical rocket propelled flight/near invulnerability
Karma - telepathic possession of others
Magma - flame projection and control over lava and volcanic activity including earthquakes
Mirage - elaborate mental illusions normally linked with fear
Sunspot - super strength from solar energy absorption
Wolfsbane - mutant werewolf, transforms at will
Cannonball, Wolfsbane, Karma, Mirage, Magma.

The Sentinels vs the original team, excluding Karma.

The new mutants are property of Marvel Comics.
